Caps and Gowns

In order to plan seating for this event and to provide suitable academic costume, please let us know WHETHER OR NOT you intend to march by filling out the online form: HERE  Be sure to click the submit button. If you need rental regalia be sure to fill out this form no later than August 9 so we have enough time to order it for you.

Many faculty have their own caps and gowns. If you requested a cap and gown when you RSVP'd for Convocation, the College will rent a set for you. You may pick up your rental cap and gown after 9:30 a.m. on the morning of Convocation, Saturday, September 11, in Hopkins 105.

Please address questions about caps and gowns to Veronica Bosley.

Line up for the academic procession

Saturday, September 11, 10:15 a.m.

Faculty: Meet on the road between Chapin Hall and the Frosh Quad (a change from previous instructions)

Emeritus Faculty: Meet in the driveway next to the President's House (you will move as a group to the Paresky Lawn)

Wear your cap and gown!

Faculty Marshals Christopher Bolton and Sara Dubow will get you lined up in the proper order. The procession steps off at exactly 10:40. The Faculty Marshals will ask the Emeritus Faculty to join the procession on the walkway from Paresky toward the Congregational Church.

The ceremony in Chapin Hall starts at 11 and lasts about an hour.

After the ceremony, the marshals will lead the Faculty to Chapin Lawn. Those with rental caps and gowns should return them immediately to Hopkins 105. Everybody is invited to the all-campus picnic on Chapin Lawn.
