Grosvenor Cup Award Winner
Sonia Nyarko '21

Sonia Nyarko has been selected by her peers as the recipient of this year’s Grosvenor Memorial Cup, one of the most prestigious honors that Williams bestows. Her classmates cite her deep commitment and dedication to the college community and describe Sonia as an “all-around delightful individual who continues to showcase her compassion and care for those around her.”

Sonia has served as president of Sisterhood, co-chair of OurSTEM, a junior advisor, a community engagement fellow for the Davis Center and a member of the Gospel Choir. She is also recognized for her work to expand student connection during the pandemic, organizing virtual events including a Sisterhood watch party, Davis Center block party and a Bolin Weekend Adulting 101 panel.

The cup is awarded in memory of Alan Livingston Grosvenor, Class of 1931, to the student in the graduating class who has “best demonstrated concern for the college community and beyond through extensive dedicated service, and who has served with the utmost integrity and reliability.”

This campus and community has truly become a home for me, and in everything I do, I work to make it feel like a home for others.
